Cllr. Jennifer Murnane O’Connor
A new voice for Carlow - Kilkenny
Mobile: 086 1608612
Jennifer Murnane O’Connor was born in Graiguecullen, Carlow on 24th May 1966. She was educated in Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Presentation College, Carlow. Jennifer married Pat O’Connor in 1985 and has four children, two girls, Maria and Hazel and two boys, Patrick and Aaron. Maria is a nurse and Hazel is a primary school teacher. Patrick and Aaron are both studying Engineering at third level.
At a very young age Jennifer attended Fianna Fail meetings with her father the late Councillor Jimmy Murnane known affectionately in Carlow and beyond as ‘Jimmy Terazza’. On the death of her father in 1999 Jennifer was co-opted to Carlow Town Council. She was successfully elected to Carlow Town Council and Carlow County Council at the next local elections. She was one of only 2 Fianna Fáil Councillors to top the poll in Ireland at the last local elections.
Jennifer is greatly involved in the local community and many local interests are close to her heart. She is secretary of the Board of Management of St. Fiacc’s House for the elderly. The care and well being of our senior citizens is very special to her. She also supports the Irish Wheelchair Association, the Irish Cancer Society, the Irish Heart Foundation, the Carlow Tidy Towns Committee and many more voluntary organisations.
Jennifer Murnane O’Connor is one of a very small group of women politicians who are prepared to step forward and help put this country firmly on the road to recovery.

I have been a public representative on both Carlow Town and County Councils for 12 years.
I am now seeking your support to become a strong, fresh voice for Carlow as your TD in the 31st Dáil.
My priority will be to ensure the very best in employment and quality of life for the people of Carlow, through Job creation initiatives:
- Health care
- Security for our senior citizens
- Quality infrastructure and housing
- Leisure facilities
My record as a Councillor shows I have delivered for ordinary people.
If elected I plan to hold regular weekly clinics in Co. Carlow. I will be available to hear your concerns and work to ensure that together we can bring about a sound economic future for Carlow.
Under our new leader, Micheál Martin, a renewed Fianna Fáil will once again take its place at the heart of Irish Politics. We want to ensure that Carlow has representation. Don’t leave Carlow out.
